Obituary of Frank Zwinkels
Peacefully, with family at his side at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, Franciscus (Frank) Zwinkels went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at the age of 83. Frank will be missed by the love of his life, his wife Maria of 55 years and their children Maurice (Janet), Rene (Jane), Karin (Bob) and Andrew. Proud Opa to Zachary, Nathaniel, Joshua, Benjamin, Chris, Patrick, Cameron, Elly, Konrad, Erik, Robert, Nadia, and Mia.
Born Feb 5, 1937 in Honslersdijk, the Netherlands, Frank was third of twelve children of the late Franciscus and Marie Zwinkels (nee van der Goes). A long-term member of Sacred Heart Parish in Delaware and a founding member of the Knights of Columbus council, Frank was steadfast in his faith. A diverse career including greenhouse operations in Berkel, the Netherlands and Mount Brydges, where the family emigrated in 1973, a pipe fitter at Polysar in Sarnia, plumbing and renovations in London and a degree in Sociology from Western, in his retirement. A musician never afraid of an instrument from accordion to harmonica, he so enjoyed spending time with his music. Coffee, dessert and a conversation were always welcome.
A private Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held on Friday, January 29th at Elliott-Madill Funeral Home with Father Thom Blondin celebrating. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mount Brydges.
