Fred was such a kind and warm individual. I will forever cherish the memories of renting the ice in Watford and having him teach me how to skate, shoot and play hockey. We always shared our love for the game and he always joked that I would be a "star center"...until I became a goalie! Fred, you will be dearly missed by many and I will forever cherish the memories we shared! Sending my deepest condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear the news. My deepest condolences to you and all the family and friends. I am thinking of you during this difficult time and send big hugs to all. Thinking of my childhood growing up, Fred is a favourite memory and puts a big smile on my face. He was always so kind, warm and so very funny. I am so thankful to have been able to catch up with him again later in life, because as an adult he reiterated and confirmed everything I remembered of him. He was a great man and will be missed dearly. I am blessed and honoured to have know him.
Sincerely,
Michelle Mosher

Before I left for my basic military training, I would carry fire wood in for my Uncle Fred’s wood stove. After I finished carrying in the wood, we would sit at his kitchen table and talk for hours about what our lives were like, how our days were etc. I told my uncle Fred that I was scared to go to training, not only because I didn’t know what to expect, but because I was afraid of leaving home and everything that I’ve ever known. He consistently told me and reminded me that “It’s better to do something scared, than to not do it at all.” That was one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received, and now I live my life by his exact words. We would talk about many things at his kitchen table, from the parties that I was going to, to him telling me to “Make sure to eat a lot of watermelon because it’ll make a certain body part grow bigger.” When I was younger, I remember always wanting to go to his house after our family gatherings, and I always remember him being my favourite uncle because he was just that. Even when he was fighting his sickness, he made it a priority to witness my military graduation. It didn’t matter how sick or how much pain he was in, he was always there for me when I needed him, just as much as I tried to be there for him when he needed me. He was one of the most knowledgeable men that I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, and I’m honoured that I got to call him my uncle. We have so many memories together, too many to recollect. But towards his last months, those are the memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I love you forever and always Uncle Fred, and I know you’ll be watching over all of our family with Grandpa and everyone else. Till next time❤️
