My deepest sympathy to family and friends of Earl. I worked with and knew Earl since about 1981 while with the MNR Aylmer district. Earl and I would frequently join up to inspect/join meetings on various water works regarding fishery interests and Earl was always there to contribute his thoughts and ideas. The many funny stories that Earl told would have you rolling on the floor and most of those stories would be considered socially unacceptable by todays standards but those were the good old days. I visited Earl several times after he retired and my later visits showed his memory fading some but we still had some good laughs. The old Kilworth crew would add to my thoughts. Knowing the type of man Earl was, he would not want friends tear-jerking over him passing, so my final compliment to Earl.
keep your powder dry Earl and if your up there in heaven, be careful with supervisors putting their hands on your shoulders while standing behind you..LOL
Fond memories

so sad to hear about the passing of Earl - my condolences to the family
I have fond memories of Earl when I worked on contract with the Aylmer district lands department and as a deputy conservation officer where I ran the deer check station at Kilworth for several years as well as working with the CO's on lands inspections
Earl was always easy going, relaxed and a joy to work with

I had the pleasure of working with Earl on the Thames River when I was a Conservation Officer in the Aylmer and Chatham Districts fom 1970 to 1975. Working to protect the pickerel spawing from poachers using dip and box nets and even dynamite we were often cold and wet and worked late into the night in boats on the fast flowing river. In these often trying times I recall that Earl always remained calm and positive in the face of adversity or when confronting an often times belligerent violator. There will, hopefully, always be Conservation Officers but Earl was one of the last of what I call a "Game Warden" who is an officer who not only enforces the law firmly ,fairly and sometimes overlooks a minor infraction with a warning but who also knows and learns from the fish, wildlife and habitat resources he/she is sworn to protect. It wasn't just what Earl did but rather who he was that made him one of a rare breed.
RIP Earl and thanks for the memories ,the good times and laughs when we were young and our hearts were touched with fire.

We always had great fun with Uncle Earl and Aunt Sherrill (my mom's sister)!
In the photo you will see us surrounding Uncle Earl: his wife Sherrill, Trisha (one of Earl's nieces), Grandma Stinson (aka Minnie and Earl's mother-in-law), Earl's son Rick, Cameron (one of Earl's nephews), and me (another niece). We're all sitting on the couch that Uncle Earl loved to nap on :)

Having Earl as an uncle was everything you could ask for in a family member. He was an excellent mentor, a great friend & an infinite source of comedic relief.
While turkey hunting with Uncle Earl, it was very evident that he was an avid outdoorsman, with a vast wealth of knowledge and a great commitment to land stewardship & conservation. He would also share his expertise & experience with anyone who showed interest.
Uncle Earl was always quick with some witty humour. When you’d least expect it, he’d pull off a joke or 2 to keep everyone smiling.
We have many great memories of Uncle Earl and we will always be appreciative of the knowledge he passed along and the fun times we shared with him.

I knew Earl when he was working in Aylmer District and I was working in Wingham District. We both followed our passion for Fish & Wildlife and both of us were Conservation Officers then also Enforcement Coordinators. He loved hid job and had impeccable standards when it came to enforcement. I am glad we crossed paths in our lives.

I was very saddened to hear of Earl's passing .Earl was one of the first supervisor's I worked for as a Deputy Conservation Officer in the Kilworth office, part of the MNR Aylmer District in the early-mid 70's.I recall working nights along the Thames River in early spring during the pickerel spawning run checking for illegal nets. After our shift was over we would make it over to Earls while he was making maple syrup.
I learned a great deal from Earl, things that I carried with me when I received my appointment as a Conservation Officer. Earl was gracious enough to come to my retirement get together years later. He was a really good guy and it was a pleasure to know him.
Rest in Peace Earl
