Obituary of Shirley Ann George

Peacefully at St. Thomas Hospital on Thursday, October 21^st, 2021, Shirley George “Kuwatshanis” (nee: Chrisjohn) of Oneida Nation in her 90^th year. 

Beloved wife of Dean George.  Loving mother of Karen Summers, Dean George Jr., the late Nancy George, and the late Danny George.  Proud grandma of 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.  Dear sister of Sylvia Swamp.  Survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Shirley was a “Residential School Survivor”. 

Friends will be received by the family on Friday, October 22^nd after 1pm at the River Road Longhouse where the Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday commencing at 11am.  Interment Longhouse Cemetery, Nicholas Road, Oneida.  Elliott-Madill Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.  www.elliottmadill.com
