Obituary of Danny Smith

Peacefully in Mount Brydges, after a period of illness, on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, Dan Smith at the age of 58.

Sadly missed by his father Don (Carol), his mother the late Jean, siblings; Malcolm, Patricia (Harry), Victor (Katie), Colin (Mary) and Martha, his children Brittany and Douglas and his granddaughter Ariel. 

Dan had a way of making friends, and an ability to see the humour even in the face of significant setbacks.  He was a gifted carpenter and his work had a craftsman's quality.  He had an innate ability to fix anything and cheerfully used his skills to help others.  He was most in his element when outdoors, and was never happier than when he was at the family cottage.  So much of the cottage was built by Dan or under his guidance and he will be forever remembered there in every corner.

The family invites friends and relatives to a Celebration of Dan's Life on Saturday, November 13th at the Royal Canadian Legion in Mount Brydges from 11 am to 1pm.  Maximum capacity is 100 people, standard Covid-19 protocols in place including proof of full Covid vaccination required.

Special thanks to the staff at Strathroy General Hospital and Mavis House for their care and kindness given to Dan.
