Obituary of Nelly Zietsma

Jesus, we commit to you our dear wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt and friend. 

Suddenly, on Friday, January 8, 2021, Nelly was taken home to be with our Lord at the age of 68.  Loving wife and best friend for 46 years of Arnold.  The best mom ever to Rebecca (Larry), Laura (Derek), Chris (Ashley), Derek (Selena), Janna (Nick).  Incredible Nana to Jacob, Maggie, Remington, Liam, Kylie, Scarlett, Emersyn, Finleigh, Tanner, Lola, Lexi and Jax.  Sister to Adriana Brown, Liz and Vic Postma, Hans and Sue VanBerkel, Joanne and Jim Pollock, Arnolda and Ralph Baker, Pat VanBerkel, Marjorie Desmet, Janice and Derek Frank.  Nelly will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, the Zietsma family, extended family and dear friends.  Predeceased by her parents Peter and Johanna VanBerkel, and her brothers Mike (Jane) and Peter VanBerkel. 

Nelly lived a life of joy and happiness. Her smile and kindness were contagious. We will always admire her strong faith in Jesus and her caring and selfless nature. She is now whistling her way through the halls of heaven! Her memory will live forever in our hearts. Dewie!

A Celebration of Nelly's life will be planned for a later date when restrictions ease.  Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army or Teen Challenge.  Elliott-Madill Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
