Obituary of Willie DeLeemans

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Willie Joseph DeLeemans in his 98th year.  Willie passed away peacefully with family by his side at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Ontario on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019. Predeceased by his beloved wife Edna (2018). Loving father to Diane Brunet and Don (Angela) DeLeemans of Mount Brydges. Father-in-law of Cyril (Pat) Soetemans. Cherished grandfather of Rob (Sinead) Brunet, Lori (Sean) Baker, Heather Brunet, Chris Soetemans, Dayna DeLeemans and partner Steve and Colin DeLeemans and partner Leah. Proud great-grandfather of Julia, William and James, Carmen and Natalie, and Ainsley and Allison.  Predeceased by his son-in-law Robert Brunet (2017), and daughter Lorraine Soetemans (2007). Willie is also predeceased by sister Mary Strobbe and brothers Joe, Rene, Constant, Victor, Alfonse and Albert DeLeemans.  He will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law Ramsay (Lillian) Cairns and Paul VanLondersele, along with several nieces and nephews.  

Willie and Edna lived on the farm in Mount Brydges for many years before enjoying their time together at Seasons in Strathroy, and later at Strathmere Lodge.  Visitation will take place at Elliott-Madill funeral home in Mount Brydges from 5-8pm on Friday, July 12th. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, Strathroy. Father Thomas Blondin. Interment Sacred Heart in the Fields, Mount Brydges.  Donations as expressions of sympathy to the Strathmere Lodge Ladies Auxiliary would be greatly appreciated.
