Hey Miss Rose ... it's Mrs Freely here. Well ya ol' bag o' bones ... It's been good to know ya. We came from different worlds, but we walked a similar path, sharing many of life's good, bad and ugly moments together. You always managed to fill my heart with joy, my head with wisdom and my belly with a whole lot of damn good food! But now the time has come to say good-bye. Thanks for 30+ years of friendship and memories. You may be gone Rose, but you will never be forgotten. You were loved greatly and will be missed enormously. xo

Rose was truly one of a kind. She had a passion for her job that stimulated interest in Indigenous learning, past and present. I worked as a student at Longwoods from 1998-2002, and she was inspiring. Please pass along my sympathy to her family, Karen, Bonnie, Agnes and the current staff at Longwoods. Rose will be missed. So very sorry to hear of Rose's passing. I had the honour of working with Rose at Longwoods for several years, and consider myself lucky to have known her. She had a kind soul and a great sense of humour. The many, many students and teachers that visited Ska-Nah-Doht really appreciated her teaching style and wealth of knowledge. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to all of Rose's family and friends.

My deepest condolences to all of you. Although I haven’t seen much of Rose in the last few years she has always held a very special place in my heart. Her infectious smile was always there to greet me when we together. I am sorry I won’t be back from AZ to say goodbye to her. I truly loved her and she will be missed.

I met Rose at Longwoods conservation area while volunteering with my daughter's school in Nov. We chatted a lot this day and she was great with all the children.
Our paths crossed again at the Christmas sale at Standing Stone school and again in January at my work of all places.
Each time she was just so lovely and wonderful to talk to. We talked of her retirement and how long she had been at Longwoods and how happy she was to start the next chapter of her life.
I was just a stranger that happened to cross paths with her those 3 times, but the conversation just flowed and we had a few good laughs. I was very sad to hear of her passing.
Sending my condolences to her family at this sad time, and i hope you find comfort in all the wonderful memories you share with her

Rose was a very generous and caring individual. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues who enjoyed spending time with her and having a good laugh. She was well respected by the 1,000's of students and teachers that she shared her knowledge with over the years at Ska-Nah-Doht Village, Longwoods Road Conservation Area. Truly a grand lady.
