Obituary of Robert James Truax
Peacefully surrounded by family at Victoria Campus, L.H.S.C. London on Saturday, November 17th, 2018. Robert James Truax of Delaware in his 80th year. Dearly missed by his loving wife of 55 years Chrissie Truax (nee Ready). Loving father of Connie (Ron) Eberhardt of Harriston, Martin (Nancy) of London, Deanna of Delaware and Corry of Tofield, Alberta. Also sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren Kyle, Claire, Stephanie, Adam and Amanda. Survived by siblings Alfred (Jean) Truax of Komoka, Edith Walker of Sombra, Brother-in-law Arnold Mallett of London, Sister-in-law Ruby Truax of London. Predeceased by Liz (Steve) Romanoff, Helen Mallett, Frances (George) Armstrong, George Truax and brother-in-law Jack Walker. Also remembered by his several nieces and nephews. Robert wore many hats in his working career. He owned and operated heavy equipment and gravel trucks as well as truck driving. He also farmed for many years. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting. He was a well known fixture on the local stock car racing circuit in the 60s and 70s. He will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place. As per Roberts wishes a Celebration of his life will be held at the Delaware Legion Br. #598 (11577 Longwoods Road, Delaware,Ontario) on Saturday November 24th from 2pm to 4pm. Donations to the Parkinsons Society Southwestern Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Elliott-Madill Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
