I had the privilege of teaching Jake at Saunders for 4 years. He was a delightful young man that always brought a smile to everyone’s face. Jake was very proud of his heritage and made the most beautiful, metal dream catchers in my manufacturing class. We still have one on display. My deepest condolences. I am so sorry for your loss.

Jake was a student of mine in grade 11 & 12 at Saunders Secondary. He always brought a smile to my face and was respectful, smart and gifted. He was very proud of his heritage and shared that with me.

Louise and Terry and Family, I am so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jake! I have so many fond memories of him from Manor Park and Woodland schools. His wonderful sense of humor and great smile often made my day. His gentleness of spirit and eagerness to learn and to help others and to extend his kindness to others truly made him stand tall in a crowd! He definitely was one of a kind. He will truly be missed!!

This young man had a great impact on me in the few days that I met him (Bark Lake 2018). He taught me a card trick. As simple as that might be or as small of a gesture, it stuck with me, and more importantly, every time I do it it makes me smile and makes the people I show smile.

My deepest condolances to Jake's family and friends. I met Jake 3 years ago when he participated as a student in the Antler River Guardians program and then got to know him as a leader of that program the following year. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and generosity of spirit..he made an impact on everyone who met him. I feel very privileged to have worked with Jake and I will always remember his eagerness in learning and easygoing nature.

Louise, I cannot begin to image your loss. Terry and Roland, as big brothers to Jake I feel you were the big brothers he tried to hang out with and follow around throughout your years growing up together. I taught Jake over four semesters in high school, and a class was always a lot of fun when he was one of our gang. He took things easy and brought the sunshine (as well as magic tricks) to class!
I'm so sad about his death.
