I was just on Facebook and was so sad and shocked to learn of sweet Marie’s passing. David and I have great memories of our camping adventures in Florida. We loved all of the stories you shared with us. I hope you will continue to camp and stop by here in NH.

I am shocked and deeply grieved to hear the news of Marie's sudden passing. I have had the honour and privilege to work with and learn from Marie my whole career as an RT. I have always looked up to her and sought her wisdom and advice. I will miss her greatly. Praying for all the many lives she touched in so many ways.

I am sincerely sorry to hear about Marie's death; life is too short. She was such a calm, gentle, and skilled RT that I enjoyed working with very much. As nurses, we were always confident that our patients were being cared for "by the best". My sincere sympathy to David and Marie's family.

Dave and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Marie was such a great woman. We worked together for many years and drove to get there together many times. She would chat a lot about her family and how much she enjoyed spending time with them. Her many nieces were on her mind often and she loved her brothers both very much. Dave I know you two were inseparable and probably the most well suited people for each other I've ever met. You were her rock and there for her when she needed you. Always.
I loved all your pictures from your travels together after retirement. You guys had so much fun together and I know she was doing exactly what she wanted to do. She was always very caring here at work and spent her life taking care of others in and out of the hospital. She even had a group of us out to her cottage years ago and we all had a blast. Im not sure I would have trusted my summer retreat in the hands of a bunch of drunk RT's but she was generous. You too Dave. Thank you. I have great memories from that time.
I always looked up to Marie and if I had any life questions I would go to her for advice. She would always know something about what I was asking. She was very wise. Her loss has saddened all of us here at UH. We are in shock and many have had a hard time. Dave you will be in all our prayers and we will be thinking about you and Marie. She was loved by so many. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Holwerda &Buchanan families at this time of sorrow.

My heart goes out to Dave and all of Marie's family. Marie was a kind, caring and fun spirited person. I had the privilege of working with Marie at University Hospital. I admired her strong work ethic and how she cared for her patients. Outside of work I have great memories of playing ball hockey, (Marie was a fierce competitor), spending time at her cottage, or spending a day at Port Stanley celebrating her Birthday. My deepest sympathy to Dave and all of Marie's family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
