Obituary of Winnifred Bron

Bron, Winnifred “Winnie” (nee Feenstra)

On Friday, February 9, 2018, Winnifred Shirley Bron (nee Feenstra) at the age of 85, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Saviour with family by her side at the LHSC-University Hospital. Beloved wife for over 60 years of the late John Bron. Loving sister of Hilda (John) Vroom and the late William (Cathrine) Feenstra. Beloved mother of Allen (Brenda) Bron, Janet (John) Drent, Judy (Peter) Kielstra, Bill (Cindy) Bron. Always lovingly remembered as Grandma by her 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Winnie and John’s marriage was a real example for each of the family as they cared for each other over the years, therefore it seemed only natural that Winnie joined John with their Heavenly Father only 9 days after his passing. Winnie worked along side her husband at Sunshine Bakery in Mt Brydges for many years. She was a very active member of a number of choirs and enjoyed the choir tours to Holland. A highlight for both Winnie and John was traveling and spending winters in Arizona which they were able to do for many years. Winnie loved to crochet and knit which each one of her kids and grandkids benefited from. Winnie had a real love for gardening and enjoyed walking among them with anyone who shared her passion. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A private service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a very special thank you to the Dialysis Team involved in Winnie (Mom’s) many years of care received at the University Hospital. Your kindness and compassion shown to Mom and Dad has been very much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation.
