Karen and Suzanne and sisters - I am thinking of you during this sad time and thinking how much my kids will miss Jim too as they were used to seeing him at the restaurant - He was a special man to many more people than he likely realized and brightened many people's days. He will be missed.

To Karen and family - I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a wonderful friend to so many. For Chuck, a visit with Jim and Karen at the restaurant was always something to look forward to that would brighten even Chuck's hardest days. For Jim, making other people feel good was what made him feel good. A really special guy.

Karen, and girls, and the entire family,, there are no words,, just no words at all, to describe how terribly saddened we all are, to hear about Jim's passing. I know the saying about being freed from his suffering, is true, but the reality is, no matter how much we are all relieved that he is not struggling to catch his next breath,, we are going to miss him beyond belief,.,, We will all wish that he was back here again, even just fleetingly, so we could see that mischievous grin,, and hear his wise cracks, that only Jim could deliver so cleverly,,, just one more time. I am so glad we got to spend that Sunday with him a couple of weeks ago,, he looked so ready to go "home". He was resigned to what was happening, and I have never met anyone like that ,who so bravely faced his mortality. His thoughts were always of his family,, never himself.. even during this roller coaster time in his life. Jim will always be remembered for having that huge grin on his face, that sparkle in his eyes,, and that incredible way he had of always making us feel welcome. I will never forget our last time on the river bank this summer... So glad we were able to get out together to fish one more time with Jim. Don cherishes the fishing pole, and the tackle boxes. and he said tonight that he has so many memories of you (Karen) and Jim. Good memories. The world and your family,, have lost an incredible man today,, and I will always feel blessed to have known Jim. You are in our thoughts today and always. We will see you soon..
