Obituary of Grenville Cyril Snake
On July 14th, 2024 “Crow” Grenville Cyril Snake Sr., passed away in his 80th year, surrounded by his loving family at home on that beautiful morning. A proud member of Munsee-Delaware Nation.
Survived by children, Cyril Jr. (Karen), Derek (Shauna) and Lloyd. Cherished grandfather to Hunter, Summer, Stephanie, Madaline, Alexandria, and Frances. Sadly, missed by siblings Irene Snake and Marjorie Beeswax. Will be deeply missed by many relatives, friends, and fellow band members. Predeceased by parents Gordon Snake and Gladys (Henry). Also predeceased by brother Woodrow Snake and Larry (Gunner) Snake.
A survivor of Mohawk Residential School in Brantford, Ontario. Crow was very proud to be a Munsee-Delaware Nation member and extended a helping hand whenever he could. A skilled journeyman, Crow put his hands to work in many community buildings and projects. While on Council he believed every member’s voice and needs were important. There is so much to share, not enough paper, but as we gather, we are sure lots of laughs and stories will be shared.
Family will receive friends for viewing at the residence (49 Deer Dodem Way, Muncey) on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, from 6pm to 9pm.
In care of Elliott-Madill Funeral Home of Mount Brydges, the funeral will be held at 49 Deer Dodem Way, Muncey at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. Interment funeral procession will proceed by foot to the Half Moon Cemetery on Jubilee Road. Parking available at the Munsee-Delaware Nation Community Centre, 533 Thomigo Road, Muncey. Celebration of his life will follow at the Community Centre.
