Obituary of Leslie Philip Grosbeck
On July 6th, 2024, Leslie Philip Grosbeck passed away in his 92nd year at Bluewater Health hospital in Sarnia.
A proud member of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
Survived by children, Valerie George, Rawleigh Grosbeck and Jamie Grosbeck. Will be deeply missed by special friend Mary Gignac. Sadly missed by siblings Karen Deleary and George (Shirley) Grosbeck of Chippewa and Carolyn and Gwen of Vancouver. Fondly remembered by great nephew Philip Grosbeck.
Cherished grandfather to many grandchildren. Grandpa Les provided paternal strength, support and endless wisdom to 5 generations. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by loving wife Delcie Mae (2013), son Leslie Keith (1967) daughter Marie Janet (2017) and Parents Harold Frederick (1975) and Elizabeth Janet (Fisher) (2001). Also predeceased by brothers Hubert, Ivan, Merle and sister Margaret.
A survivor of Shingwauk Indian Residential School in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
A skilled self-made man, talented in Carpentry, mechanics, landscaping, septic systems, farming livestock, planting crops and heavy machinery.His hobbies included collection and restoration of antique cars, producing wine, playing cards and visiting his good friends.
The family would like to acknowledge Mary’s kindness, caring and companionship for Dad over the years.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
At Mr. Grosbeck’s request cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
